Top tips for saving energy with your inverter air conditioner

Hello there, mga KaSosyo and KaNegosyo! Sir Vince here, your trusty financial “guro”. Today, I’m serving up some fresh insights on how to make the most out of your inverter air conditioner, straight from the expert, Jepok, a veteran refrigeration and air conditioning mechanic. Are you ready to cool down your electric bill? Then let’s dive in!

  1. Don’t crank the thermostat to its coldest: Jepok says there’s no need to max out your aircon’s coldest setting. Find a temperature that’s comfortable for you, where you can sleep soundly without feeling too hot or too cold. For Jepok, that’s somewhere between 23 to 26 degrees Celsius.
  2. Limit opening of doors or windows: Each time you open a door or a window, you’re letting in heat, making your aircon work harder and consume more electricity. If possible, minimize the frequency of opening and closing doors and windows.
  3. Cover all the cracks: Seal all the gaps and tiny holes in your room to prevent warm air from seeping in, which adds more workload to your aircon and increases your electricity consumption.
  4. Install blinds or curtains: Windows can quickly let in heat. Using blinds or thick curtains to block this heat can prevent your aircon from overworking.
  5. Regular cleaning and maintenance: Make it a habit to clean your aircon regularly for a free flow of air and effective heat transfer. This can reduce the burden on the compressor and prevent an unnecessary surge in electricity consumption. Always check your aircon’s filter, too.
  6. Use the right aircon horsepower: This is Jepok’s most crucial tip. Choose an aircon with the correct cooling capacity or horsepower for your room. If your aircon is too small, it won’t cool your room effectively, and it will constantly run at full speed, consuming more electricity. So, buy the right size to avoid bigger electric bills.

So, that’s it, mga KaSosyo and KaNegosyo! By applying these tips, we can extend the lifespan of our aircon units, save on electricity, and contribute to our financial wisdom. Got any other tips? Share them in the comments!
