Start Today, Relax Tomorrow: The Pinoy Gen Z Quick Guide to Retirement

Here’s a roadmap to your future financial freedom in this quick guide.

1. Magsimulang mag-ipon at mag-invest kahit magkano, now na!

The magic is in the habit, not the amount. Every peso saved is a step closer to a worry-free retirement.

2. Save and invest as much as you can

Ganito yun: as a percentage of your monthly income, allocate maximum 5% for insurance, minimum 15% for savings, minimum 20% for investments and maximum 60% for your expenses.

Investments ang iyong money-making machine, working tirelessly to multiply your wealth.

  1. Build a strong retirement fund foundation

Pagkatapos, diversify your portfolio – magdagdag ng rental properties, cooperative and rural bank time deposits, cooperative share capital, land banking at personal equity retirement account.

  1. Avoid the stock market, cryptos, and VUL

These “investment avenues” can be as unpredictable as the weather during typhoon season. Sure, they might promise high returns, but believe me, they rarely deliver. It’s best to avoid these roller coaster rides and choose consistent and more reliable investment options. Remember, retirement is a marathon, not a sprint.

5. Choose meaningful and productive retirement

Retirement is about enjoying life to the fullest and making a difference. It’s about having the funds to live the lifestyle that you want and at the same time contribute to a better world – the soonest possible time.

YOLO + YAGO = BOLO

Remember, KaSosyo and KaNegosyo, the goal isn’t just to amass wealth for some future date. Ang target natin: happiness – finding joy and fulfillment in every step of the journey.

It’s about achieving a balance – pagsamahin ang YOLO o You Only Live Once philosophy, at ang katotohanang You Also Grow Old o YAGO, para magkaroon ng unique blend na ang tawag ay BOLO – Balancing of Luxuries and Obligations. O di ba?

So, roll up your sleeves and start building your financial fortress. Because the best time to start is now.

Tandaan, ang pagyaman, napag-aaralan at napagtutulungan!
