Theme: Bridging Gaps, Building Futures: Innovating Solutions at the 2nd Socialized Housing Summit
Background
Building Safe and Secure Communities is one of the pillars under the Philippine Development Plan 2017- 2022. Two key concerns that the housing sector currently face are the inadequacy of the sector budget allocation and the growing housing backlog. (econgress.gov.ph,2022)
The housing crisis in the Philippines, particularly within the socialized, economic, and low-cost sectors, is a challenge of both national and social dimensions. While the government and some private entities have initiated steps towards bridging the housing gap, the need for a collective and comprehensive strategy is paramount.
Objectives
The 2nd Socialized Housing Summit aspires to be a catalyst for impactful change, fostering an environment where partnerships among diverse stakeholders are nurtured and actionable and sustainable strategies to address the housing crisis are formulated. By amplifying awareness and facilitating knowledge-sharing about socialized housing, the summit seeks to weave a collaborative network across sectors. The event will spotlight successful models and government programs, enhancing their visibility and inspiring replication or adaptation across varied contexts. Ultimately, the summit aims to fortify collective efforts towards ensuring accessible, sustainable, and dignified housing for every Filipino, bridging gaps through innovation, collaboration, and shared expertise.
