Usapang Pera Season 1 Episode 5
“Ang ganda nito. Grabe! Wow! Buy!”
“Venus, nagsashopping ka na naman.”
“Aahhmm… medyo lang.”
“Well, ok naman yung pagsashopping ‘no pero kailangan nasa good personal financial standing ka para magshopping. Gusto mo ba na malaman kung anong persona financial literacy level mo?
“Ano yung personal… yes! Oo, paki-explain nga sa akin yun.”
“Bibigyan kita ng five questions, ok? And these five questions is a quick assessment of your personal financial level, ok?”
“Wow!”
“So, you will answer the question with Yes or No.”
“Ok.”
“At kapag Yes ang sagot mo…”
“Yes…”
“Ang gagamitin mo ‘to at sasabihin mo (shows a placard written with “Major Major Yes”
“Of course”
“Major major yes!”
“Major major yes!”
“Ok! So, ang una nating tanong ay meron ka bang financial plan?”
“Parang wala”
“Wala. Ok. Yung personal financial plan kasi, yan yung mga ina-identify natin na mga dreams natin, what we aspire for in the future.”
“Oo. Siyempre, ginagawa ko yan!”
“Ok pero kailangan specific, time bound at monetized o nilalagyan ng resources.”
“Yang monetized ang hindi ko nagagawa.”
“Ang sunod na tanong ay meron ka bang ipon o savings?”
“It’s a major major yes!”
“Ayan! Very good! So, that’s the first “yes” that you have. Para saan yung savings? Anong purpose niya?
“For future use, for emergency purpose.”
“Right. Tama yan Venus na sinabi mo for emergency purposes but alam mo ba dapat kung magkano yung emergency savings mo?”
“Yan ang hindi ko alam.”
“Ang savings natin para sa emergency should be equivalent to six months of our income or nine months of our expenses. The third question, meron ka bang insurance?”
“Yes! It’s a major major yes again!”
“Ok. What kind of insurance do you have?”
“Life and investment.”
“Ah. Ok. So normally, I really don’t recommend investment-linked insurance pero ang dapat na meron tayong insurance life, medical, accident and disability. So, pang-apat na tanong, ikaw ba ay may loan o may utang?”
“Wala. Takot akong mangutang eh.”
“Okay! Very good! That’s a very good start ‘no na takot ka sa utang ganyan kasi medyo delikado yun”
“Oo.”
“So, for loans, dapat kapag tayo ay mangungutang, gagamitin natin yan for productive purposes.”
“Yes.”
“Ibig sabihin, kumikita.”
“Yes.”
“At ang panghuli, pang-limang question, meron ka bang passive income?”
“Aahhmm… passive income? Wala.”
“Ano nga ba ulit yung passive income?”
“Ang passive income is… eto yung income mo na dumarating sayo na kahit hindi mo pa pinag or… hindi mo pinagtatrabahuhan, right?”
“Yes, tama yan! And ang goal natin is when we reach our preferred retirement age, that we would have… meron tayong sapat na passive income para i-cover yung ating expenses.”
“So, out of the five questions Venus, ilan yung nakuha mong tamang sagot?”
“Dahil nakadalawa lang ako, ah… low financial literacy level.”
“Ok. So, anong pakiramdam na low financial literacy level ang lumabas?”
“Oo, parang nakaka-alarma.”
“So, huwag kang mag-alala Venus kasi lahat naman tayo nagsisimula sa hindi maganda na personal financial level and there are things that pwede nating gawin para ma-improve natin.”
“Yes.”
